H.O.P.E. Agency welcomes Jennings

The H.O.P.E. Agency in Thermopolis has a new addition to their crew, Bobbi Jennings.

Jennings, who is originally from Alaska, moved here six years ago with her husband and two daughters.

When asked what prompted her to work at the H.O.P.E. Agency, Jennings pointed out that Alaska has the highest rate of partner violence, sexual violence or both, with 59 percent of adult women having experienced some kind of sexual violence in their lifetime.

That high rate of domestic violence is what pushed her toward this career. She is currently finishing up her bachelors degree in psychology through the University of Wyoming and is planning on a degree in mental health counseling next.

Jennings said she likes working with clients as they come in, especially helping people get out of the situations they are in.

"The key is getting them out of the situation they're in so they don't go back," she said. "I like helping them find a better path so they no longer need to go back."
