Deadline extended for family histories

This year, the Hot Springs County Pioneer Association, also known as the Pioneers, took on a project to engage the community in an effort to document family histories.

The Pioneers previously published “Hot Springs County Memories from the Past” in 1996, as well as a supplement to that work in 1998. However, there have been at least two generations who have lived here for which there is no documentation, so the pioneers began soliciting family histories, in story form.

Though the initial deadline for histories to be submitted was July 31, the deadline has been extended to Dec. 31. Those with histories are asked to submit them to the Hot Springs County Museum.
