Thermopolis Middle School seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams are getting a lot of court time for both the A and B teams.
Head coach Aimee Kay said the teams are continuing to work on a complicated system.
“We are improving on transitioning from offense to defense,” she said. “My hope is that having a solid understanding of these concepts and skills will set them up for an easier transition to the high school level of play.”
Kay added their serves are still a struggle and they don’t get a lot of opportunity to work on serve/receive at the A level, so it continues to be a challenge.
“I know that they are capable of playing at a high level of play because I have seen them do it,” Kay said. “We now just need to get a little fire in our play and learn to consistently play solid volleyball.”
The seventh grade teams have been seeing some success, too and are continuing to work on moving to the ball and playing with some confidence. Kay said, however, their skills are continuing to improve.
