Social Studies teacher Steven Soderstrom comes to us from Colorado, although he is originally a Worland native.
Soderstrom teaches tenth grade as well as eighth grade social studies. Previously, he taught in Spearfish, South Dakota and Rifle, Colo. He attended Black Hills State University where he majored in social studies with a history minor and played football for the Yellow Jackets from 2010 to 2014. He is helping with the high school football team here, too.
“I’m excited to be back in Wyoming,” Soderstrom said. “The education system is so supportive here. I see all the students the same. I would rather help them find solutions than more problems.”
Soderstrom’s parents still live in Worland. His father owns S&H Glass and his mother is a secretary for the school system. His girlfriend is here in Thermopolis with him and is a nurse at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital.
When he’s not teaching or coaching, Soderstrom loves anything outdoors – bird hunting, big game hunting and especially fishing. This summer he said they spent nearly every weekend fishing on Boysen Lake.
