Judge Skar retirement party planned

Fifth Judicial District Court Honorable Judge Robert E. Skar will retire on Oct. 2, and in recognition for his years on the bench there will be an open house for him at Worland, where his main office is. As a justice in the Fifth Judicial District, Skar covers Washakie and Hot Springs counties, as well as part of Big Horn County.

The open house will be at the District Courtroom inside Washakie County Courthouse on Friday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Attorney Bobbi Overfield was recently selected by Governor Matthew Mead to fill Skar’s vacancy. Her official robing ceremony will be Thursday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. in the District Courtroom in the Hot Springs County Courthouse.
