Monday starts Homecoming Week for the Thermopolis Bobcats and there is plenty going on to keep everyone entertained for the duration.
On Monday, students at the high school will celebrate “America Day”, wearing red, white and blue for the day.
Students will also be decorating the halls of the high school with this year’s Homecoming theme, “Las Vegas.”
If you’re looking for some laughs on Monday, plan on attending the “Mangeant” from 12:15 to 1:45 in the auditorium. The guys will be donning their best gowns and participating in a pageant that is sure to keep the audience in stitches.
Tuesday, students will participate in “Opposite” day. The classes will compete against each other in dodgeball that night, starting at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.
Freshman, JV and Varsity volleyball will be away that evening, playing in Lovell, starting at 4 p.m.
Each of the classes will be dressed in different colors on Wednesday for “Class Color” day. One of the highlights of Homecoming Week will be from 12:15 to 1:45 in the auditorium as students and faculty alike compete in a “Lip Sync Battle.” Its always a great time to see how creative they can be and you never know, this year the faculty might win it all.
There will be super heroes galore walking the halls on Thursday as the freshmen and sophomores dress as their favorite DC Comics characters while the juniors and seniors don Marvel Comics costumes.
Thursday night is also buff puff volleyball in the gym at 7 p.m. with powder puff football to commence immediately after.
No matter your age, dig out the purple and gold on Friday for “Spirit” day.
The Homecoming parade will line up at 10 a.m. and begin at 10:45 through downtown. Lady Bobcat volleyball will be at home on Friday, taking on Lander for the Bobcat Invitational, starting at 12:30.
Then its time for dinner and a game as the FFA holds their annual steak dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets are available from any FFA member for $16.
Crowning of the Homecoming Royalty will be at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Homecoming game against the Wheatland Bulldogs at 6 p.m.
The excitement continues on Saturday with more of the Lady Cats’ volleyball tournament beginning at 8 a.m.
This year’s Homecoming dance will be held at the Masonic Hall on Arapahoe, from 9 – 11 p.m.
