Johnson takes first on home greens
The Bobcat Golf Team hosted their home tournament last weekend, the final tournament before the State 2A Tournament in Newcastle this weekend.
Coach Joey Johnson said the team played their best golf yet on their home greens, carding many personal best scores, adding if they keep this up, they may be very competitive this coming weekend.
Jeffry Clark scored a personal best of 75-91 for a two-day total of 166, which is also his best for the season.
Kyle Roessing scored 108-108 for a two-day personal best of 216 and Lee Grimm also posted his personal best with a two-day total of 217.
Will Clark and Jean Luc Willson also scored their personal bests for the fall schedule, with 234 and 287 respectively.
Coach Johnson noted Maddie Stam continues to put up consistent scores in the low 100's and expects her to place very well at State.
Hardy Johnson is also putting up consistent scores right around par, and he expects he will do pretty much the same next weekend at State.
Day one scores were all very solid for the young Bobcats and the boys team score had them in a slight lead over the more seasoned Kemmerer team with Thermop holding 363, Kemmerer, 370 and Lovell, 410.
Day two saw a bit of a change with Kemmerer playing slightly better, edging the Bobcats out of first place by nine points.
Kemmerer scored a final 731, Thermopolis, 740 and Lovell scored 816.
Hardy Johnson placed first overall on the boys side with 141 and Jeffry Clark placed second with 166. Kyle Roessing came out in 10th place with a 216.
Maddie Stam took second overall in the girls division with a 215.
