Raymond Allen 'Butch' White

Raymond Allen “Butch” White, 83, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center after a period of declining health.

Born May 15, 1935, in Thermopolis, he was one of 10 children of Jacque and Mary Agnes (Peoples) White. Following high school he worked in the oil fields until joining the U.S. Army serving from 1959-1963.

On September 29, 1967, he married Shirley A. Towles in Thermopolis. Butch was employed as a plumber and later established Butch’s Plumbing. He was a member of the Elks until it’s closure. He enjoyed gardening, which included a greenhouse, which he nurtured all year.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Thermopolis; children, Bart (Janet) Ready of Bozeman, Mont., and Spring Longwell of Thermopolis; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren; brother, H.R. “Mick” White of Thermopolis; sisters, Bonnie Bleak and Mary Lou McGee, all of Thermopolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and six siblings, Ana Watson, Alla Holthues, James, Dorothy Hans, Crystal Skelton and Betty Yeaman.
