Helen Katherine Kinsel

Helen Katherine Kinsel, 86, passed away Sunday, September 9 in Casper, Wyo., where she had resided the past few years.

Born June 10, 1932, in Bryan, Texas, she was the daughter of Henry and Annie (Huff) Byer. Following graduation from Bryan High School she attended Southwest Business University in Houston, Texas, in 1953 with a degree in Secretarial Science.

On May 25, 1960, she married George Kinsel of Altoona, Pa. The couple later moved to Thermopolis where Helen was employed as a bookkeeper for TRW Reda Pump and LTV. She later was a house parent for BOCES for many years.

She loved her family immensely and her great grandson was the light of her life the past four years. Her interests included traveling, bowling, her family and playing bridge. Helen was a member of Community Federated Church, Lions Club, VFW and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived her grandchildren, Stephanie (Stuart) Comstock of Casper and Katherine (Chelsey) Anderson of Virginia; brother, Melvin (Sheila) Byer of Pasadena, Texas; and her great-grandson, Colin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; daughter, Sheila in 2016; son, Troy in 2017; and three brothers.

Visitation will be held at Mortimore Funeral Home, Sat., September 15 in the morning. A memorial service will follow at Monument Hill Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Chuck Cooper officiating. A reception will follow at the Community Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Federated Church or the Thermopolis Lion's Club.
