On the Record policy
It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday, Aug. 29
7:54 p.m. Civil standby was provided to allow a subject to retrieve property.
Friday, Aug. 31
8:23 p.m. Report of a vehicle vs. deer accident. The vehicle was able to be driven away.
Saturday, Sept. 1
12:49 a.m. During a routine patrol in the buffalo pasture, a deputy performed a traffic stop. Marlene L. Beebe was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.
10:18 p.m. Report of suspicious activity at a residence. The suspect was located and provided with a ride home.
11:42 p.m. Report of a vehicle in Hot Springs State Park after hours. Contact was made with the driver and he was asked to leave.
Sunday, Sept. 2
4:28 p.m. Following a traffic stop, marijuana was found inside a vehicle and the driver was cited for possession of a controlled substance.
8:13 p.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located and the driver was cited for having too much tint on the windows.

Tuesday, Aug. 28
7:33 p.m. Report of juveniles at the middle school playground trying to damage equipment. There was no damage, and the father of one of the juveniles was spoken to.
Wednesday, Aug. 29
2:20 p.m. A business reported an incident of fraud, which is being handled internally.
2:35 p.m. Report of a subject who appeared to be intoxicated bothering others. An officer contacted the subject and asked he not return to the residence.
8:17 p.m. Complainant reported a temporary tag had been taken from a vehicle.
Thursday, Aug. 30
12:35 p.m. Subject reported a small child left in a vehicle. The suspect vehicle was gone when the officer arrived.
7:50 p.m. Domestic dispute between family members. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening.
8:40 p.m. Report of a dog getting out and biting a child who was doing door-to-door sales.
Friday, Aug. 31
1:03 p.m. Report of a broken window on a truck.
2:23 p.m. Officer provided a civil standby in a courtroom, as people were becoming aggressive.
8:30 p.m. Noise complaint on a vehicle sounding a siren. The vehicle owner was contacted and stated a wiring issue was causing the vehicle alarm to go off when he honked the horn.
11:07 p.m. Following a traffic stop, the officer detected the odor of marijuana from the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed marijuana and the driver was cited for unlawful possession and running a stop sign.
Saturday, Sept. 1
9:22 a.m. Report of a vehicle passing in a no passing zone. The driver was contacted and spoken to.
7:34 p.m. Report of a vehicle all over the road. There was no contact with the suspect vehicle.
Sunday, Sept. 2
2:35 a.m. Complainant reported two intoxicated subjects. Contact was made with the subjects and though they had been drinking they appeared to be capable of taking care of themselves. One was given a ride home and the other rode his bicycle home.
Monday, Sept. 3
12:24 a.m. Report of people smoking a joint in a vehicle. The vehicle was later stopped for speeding and searched, and Stephanie L. Williams was arrested for alleged possession of meth and open container.
5:14 p.m. Subject requested to speak to an officer about someone wanting to fight him. The subject was previously advised to contact law enforcement in such incidences.
9:01 p.m. Officer responded to a fight that was only verbal. However, one of the subjects involved, Nykomia S. Whiting, was found to be wanted on a Fremont County warrant and was arrested by Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Circuit court
Dustin K. Smith was found guilty of being under 21 with a measurable BAC and was sentenced to 10 days in jail with nine days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $455.
Caleb T. Glick was found guilty of being under 21 with a measurable BAC and was sentenced to 10 days in jail with nine days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $455.
Robert J. Hunter Jr. was found guilty of fighting in public and was sentenced to five days in jail with five days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $505.
Dillon L. Matheson was found guilty of hunting within 400 yards of a public area. Fees and fines are $235.
