Kurkowski starts grooming business

As one opens the front door to Happy Tails Pet Grooming, he or she might get quite the welcome as a small welcoming crew - two- and four-legged - comes to investigate.

Lynda Kurkowski officially opened in May, and wanted to do something with her girls, four-year-old Nova, two-year-old (three next month) Ruby and 16-month old Jade. She felt like the people of the town needed a quality dog groomer, and she will have been grooming for 10 years next month. In addition to her girls, Kurkowski also has three dogs at the business and a cat she adopted.

As for services, Kurkowski said she does baths, hair cuts and nail trims with all the accouterment included. She grooms cats and all size dogs. "Big or small I groom them all. That's my motto," she said.

She has also done a few daycare services, and plans to knock a door in the back of the business and build a fence around the outside so she can take on a couple of daycares.

Though she does have kennels inside the business, Kurkowski noted they are mainly for restless animals and not for boarding.
