Mari Lou Irelan, 63, of Wheatland, Wyo., died Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Mari was born March 10, 1955, in Sterling, Colo., to Donald A. and Shirley C. (Gillespie) Irelan. She graduated with a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Wyoming in 1991.
Mari loved her nursing career that started in oncology working in Cheyenne. Her nursing career took her many places and into the hearts of many patients. She worked in home health for 16 years and was working for Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Wheatland as the Director of Home Health at the time of her death.
Mari was an avid rock hound and loved spending time on Copper Mountain. She also immersed herself in traditions of the Native American culture and was known for her love of drumming and creating Native American drums and many other treasures for her family and friends.
Survivors include her partner and soul mate, Keith Lundine of Wheatland; son, Jeremiah (April) Ramsey; grandson, Wyatt; granddaughter, Cloe Lou all of Shoshoni; mother, Shirley Irelan of Thermopolis; sister and brother, Terry and Jim Wilson of Thermopolis; sister and brother, Pat and Bill Skelton of Riverton; niece, nephew and great niece Billi Jo, Jason and Emme Norsworthy of Thermopolis; nephews and niece Steven Skelton of Riverton and Kate and Jae Esponda of Gillette; her Auntie B, Bonnie Johnsey of Cody; and many cousins.
A celebration of Mari's life will be held in Thermopolis at the VFW Club on Saturday, August 11 at 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Davis Hospice Center, Cheyenne Regional Foundation, 214 E. 213rd Street, Cheyenne, WY 82001 or the Don Irelan Nursing Scholarship, Central Wyoming College Foundation, 2660 North Peck Avenue, Riverton WY 82501.
