Last week saw the first round of playoffs in the Hot Springs County Recreation District’s Adult Co-ed Softball League.
On July 10, No. 1 seed The Team We Like The Most (TTWLTM) had a 22-7 victory against No. 8 seed Robin Batsman. Standout performers were David Evans with a 1.000 average, two home runs, five runs and five RBIs for TTWLTM, and Joe Maul with a 1.000 average and three RBIs for Robin Batsman.
No. 3 seed Slide One In had a close 20-19 win over No. 6 seed Paintbrush Dental. Standout performers were Jacque Korte with a .750 average, one run and six RBIs for Slide One In, and Steve Francis with a 1.000 average, three runs and three RBIs for Paintbrush.
In the second day of playoffs, July 12, No. 2 seed One Stop Repair had a 20-5 win over No. 7 seed Scrub Tops. Standout performers were Jason Ciz with a .750 average, one home run, two runs and six RBIs for One Stop, and Erik Fladmo with a 1.000 average, one run and two RBIs for Scrub Tops.
No. 5 seed Risen Son won 22-8 over No. 4 seed One Eyed Buffalo. Standout performers were Ryan Shaffer with a 1.000 average, one home run, two runs and four RBIs for Risen Son, and Trevor Birdsley with a .667 average, two runs and two RBIs for OEB.
This week, competition moves into the semifinals with TTWLTM taking on Slide One In at 6:30 p.m. July 17, and One Stop facing off against Risen Son Following. The losers of each semifinal round will compete for third place at 6:30 p.m. July 19, with the championship match wrapping up the season at 7:45 p.m. the same evening.
