It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

9:22 a.m. Report of a bad check, though the responsible party made good on it.
Friday, July 13
9:34 a.m. Complainant was concerned about lights on a neighbor’s property.
5:16 p.m. REDDI report, though the vehicle was located and the driver showed no signs of intoxication. The driver was warned for not maintaining a lane and cited for no proof of insurance.
Saturday, July 14
6:44 p.m. Report of suspicious activity, with a vehicle parked on the side of the road and subjects dancing across the road. The vehicle and subjects could not be located.
Sunday, July 15
10:45 a.m. Report of a light shot out on a property.
11:04 p.m. Complaint of a vehicle shining its lights in a bedroom and honking its horn.
Monday, July 16
12:45 p.m. Report of a suspicious subject at a business. The subject could not be located.

Tuesday, July 10
2:12 p.m. Caller reported a lost picnic basket full of dishes.
2:20 p.m. Questions about ownership of a horse trailer. The matter is under investigation.
7:20 p.m. Officer responded to a domestic disturbance. Boone M. Myers was arrested for alleged domestic assault. A female subject was cited for property damage.
Wednesday, July 11
9:10 Report of a subject driving intoxicated. The driver was contacted and showed no signs of intoxication.
1:29 p.m. Lacy D. Raney was arrested on a probation hold.

2:25 p.m. Report of suspicious activity around a home. The call was unfounded.
9:29 p.m. Report of a stolen speaker.
Friday, July 13
5:59 p.m. Report of a subject being intoxicated and going to someone’s home. Nathan M. Thomas was arrested for alleged public intoxication.
Saturday, July 14
10:48 a.m. In a follow up regarding a scam, the scammers were contacted and refused to return any money.
Monday, July 16
8:30 a.m. Report of a suspicious individual. The subject was contacted and was simply waiting for a business to open.
10:43 a.m. A found wallet was returned to its owner.
1:03 p.m. Following a traffic stop an officer detected an odor of marijuana and found a substantial amount in the vehicle. Katie A. Sanford and Zachariah P. Siek were both arrested for alleged possession of marijuana.
4:22 p.m. A found purse was turned in to lost and found.
9:39 p.m. Officer responded to a family dispute and spoke to all involved. There were no further issues.

Lawrence Robert Hergert was born July 8, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Emmy and Holden Hergert.
He weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 19 inches long.
Grandparents are Robert and Dawn Coxbill, Leanne and Fred Correll and Mark and Tracy Hergert.
Elton Lee Hurley was born July 8, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Abigail Schallot and Zackery Hurley.
He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 19.5 inches long.
Grandparents are Shawna Schallot and Mathew and Melissa Hurley.
Circuit court
Walter D. Bruckner was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and interference with an officer, and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $1,160.
Kenton J. King was found guilty of driving under the influence and open container, and was sentenced to 13 days in jail with 10 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $755.
