Champs Chicken grand opening

The public is invited to the Southside Travel Center to check out the latest eatery in Thermopolis — Champs Chicken. The restaurant is located inside the building between the service station and the convenience store. The new franchise opened in June.

The celebration is scheduled from 11 am. until 6 p.m. on Friday, July 6, with free samples, door prizes and meal specials available. Though there are plenty of other items to choose from, the main fried chicken for which the restaurant gets its name is appropriate for National Fried Chicken Day, celebrated July 6. It is unclear where the unofficial holiday got its origins.
