Concert, fireworks highlight Fourth of July

Next week, when we celebrate Independence Day on Wednesday, July 4, the festivities will include the annual fireworks show from the Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department from the top of T Hill. The show brings together people not just from Thermopolis but from surrounding communities to watch the colored pyrotechnics.

People with their own firework caches will be able to set them off near the skate park prior to the T Hill show.

But before the main event kicks off, the public is invited to stop over at the pavilion in Hot Springs State Park for the Sounds of Summer at 7 p.m., this time featuring Hamilton Loomis and special guest DJ Haley.

Loomis is the son of musician parents who listened to blues, rock and soul. He says music ran in his veins and, with instruments readily available around the house, he picked up drums, piano, guitar and harmonica, honing his multi-instrumental talent.
