The state’s nominating commission will be accepting expressions of interest from qualified applicants to replace Skar through July 9.
Once the commission narrows the field of applicants down to three, Governor Matt Mead will appoint one of them to fill Skar’s position which covers not only Hot Springs County, but Washakie and Big Horn counties as well.
In order to serve as a District Judge, one must be “learned of the law, at least 28 years of age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of Wyoming for the past two years.”
