Last week Thermopolis was home to the Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce’s spring conference, with members of the Wyoming Business Alliance, company CEOs, those involved with legislature and leadership and Hot Springs County Emergency Management Coordinator.
In addition to their conference, those attending got a look at local businesses and attractions. Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Meri Ann Rush said those attending from out of town were overall surprised with all that we have to offer here, and some have already planned to bring their families on a return trip. Rush said it was fun showcasing the town.
Rush, who is also on the State Chamber board, explained any community in Wyoming can submit a proposal to host the conference. This year, Thermopolis was one of five communities that submitted proposals. The board has a conference every spring, Rush said, and last fall started incorporating their fall conference with the Wyoming Economic Development Association and Wyoming Main Street as part of an effort called Wyoming Works.
The various sessions during the conference were all great, Rush said, with each providing different talking points from motivational speaking, to emergency management, to business power strategies. The 18 people who registered were a combination of executives, chamber employees and chamber board members.
