Quilt block painting classes

The Wyoming Quilt Trail project is coming to Thermopolis. Brightly painted quilt blocks displayed on homes, garages, barns, and buildings in the community will be the result.

Beginning in Lusk in 2016, the goal of the Wyoming Quilt Trail group is to extend the display of blocks from one end of the state to the other for residents and visitors alike to enjoy as they travel through towns and the countryside.

Classes to paint the blocks are being held in Thermopolis at Gooseberry Garden Quilt Shop on Friday, May 4 from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Each participant will paint a two-foot square quilt block and create an original piece of folk art to proudly display. To see examples of blocks that have been made in prior classes, go to Wyoming Quilt Trail on Facebook or wyomingquilttrail.com. Over 150 blocks are beautifying communities in the eastern part of the state.

For more information and to sign up for a class, call project coordinator, Karen Wisseman at 307-334-9963. There is a $70 fee for the class which includes all supplies and instruction.
