Jazz concert May 9

Renown jazz guitarist and clinician, John Stowell will be in Thermopolis for a one night performance, courtesy of the Hot Springs County Library.

Stowell, who began his career in the early 70’s, performing across the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia. In 1983 he participated in a historic tour of the Soviet Union, the first time in 40 years an American jazz group had been invited to play public performances in Russia.

He has been the artist in resident at schools in Germany, Indonesia and Argentina as well as America and Canada. His album “Through the Listening Glass” was chosen one of the Ten Best Jazz Albums of the Decade by the Los Angeles Examiner.

Stowell will be performing at the library on Wednesday, May 9 starting at 7 p.m.
