Lila Elizabeth Skinner, 97, passed away April 22, 2018, at Poplar Living Center in Casper.
She was born at the family farm near Shelbina, Mo., on November 20, 1920, to Myrtle Elizabeth (Moore) and Paul Matthias Tanner. Lila graduated from Thermopolis High School. She married Orville Ernest Skinner on September 1, 1939. Lila was a clerk at Citydrug and a homemaker. She was a member of a local ladies’ club in Thermopolis. Lila enjoyed gardening, grew flowers and cared for her vegetable garden. She loved playing the piano for fun and in a square dance band. Lila loved spending time with family and creating a warm and loving home.
Lila is survived by her daughter, Nancy E. Skinner-Lawrence of Casper; granddaughters, Penny and Julie Richards-Lawrence of Casper; brother, Loyd Tanner of Casper; nephews, Steve Tanner, of Bozeman, Mont., and Mark (Christina) Tanner of Tucson, Ariz.; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Paul Tanner, of Thermopolis; husband, Orville Skinner, of Thermopolis; brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Eleanor Tanner, of Tucson, Ariz.; son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Lawrence, of Casper; and cousins, Earl and Eula Sparks, of Thermopolis.
A graveside service will be held at the Thermopolis Cemetery.
