Elementary to host music festival

Ralph Witters Elementary will be home to the Student Music Festival on Saturday, March 24. Over 130 students will be attending, 12 of them from Thermopolis.

Music teacher Mary McGillivray said the event is done through the North Big Horn Basin Music District, and area schools bring students to play in Honor Recorder, Honor Choir and Honor Movement/Drumming.

Students will begin rehearsing on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., and there will be a public performance at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

McGillivray is helping put on the event with band and choir teacher, Drew Brown. The elementary school Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will also be helping with the event, providing cookies for students and helping to serve lunch.
