Time to buff up your soil in preparation for planting season

Though the weather is still chilly and the ground not yet completely thawed, the Red Dirt Master Gardeners want to make sure you’re ready for the upcoming planting season.

Following their monthly meeting on March 13 at 4 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Library, the Gardeners will host a special public presentation by Caitlyn Youngquist, the University of Wyoming Extension agent at Worland, on soil preservation and how to get the most out of your garden this year. Youngquist will bring some soil samples, to give people a bit of hands on experience.

The presentation is from 5-6 p.m. and anyone wanting to attend is more than welcome.

The Gardeners are also gearing up for their spot sign ups at the community garden, and forming a garden club for those who don’t have the time or inclination to take the Master Gardeners class but would like to volunteer at the community garden.
