On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff’s office

Tuesday, Jan. 30

11:24 a.m. Report of a theft. The matter is under investigation.

1:54 p.m. Complainant reported receiving harassing phone calls.

5:32 p.m. Report of someone shooting at a dog. The dog was injured, but it was unknown if it had been shot.

Thursday, Feb. 1

8:24 p.m. Sheriff’s office was contacted to assist with gathering information for a theft case out of Big Horn County.

Monday, Feb. 5

11:20 a.m. Timothy J. Ott was arrested for alleged failure to appear and interference with a peace officer.

Police department

Tuesday, Jan. 30

8:22 a.m. Report of a truck driving recklessly. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

11:01 a.m. Officer responded to a domestic dispute. Danny J. Anderson was arrested for alleged domestic battery.

12:25 p.m. Complainant reported a broken out window on a vehicle. There were no projectiles found in the area.

2:45 p.m. Officer responded to a dispute between neighbors, and was able to mitigate the situation.

Wednesday, Jan. 31

10:05 p.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle. The driver was contacted and stated he was waiting on a friend.

Thursday, Feb. 1

1:34 p.m. Subject reported a fraudulent call from someone claiming to represent the Hot Springs County processing and summoning division. No monetary or personal information was exchanged.

3 p.m. Officer responded to two subjects involved in a fray. The parties were separated and cited for simple assault.

5:16 p.m. REDDI report, though there was nobody in the suspect vehicle when the officer arrived.

Friday, Feb. 2

3:58 p.m. A juvenile subject was cited for theft.

5:12 p.m. Call for a trespassing notice on a subject using the rest room at a business without using other services. It was suspected the subject was taking items as well.

Saturday, Feb. 3

2:06 a.m. Lance C. McClure, Adam H. Smith and Megan M. Lathrop were taken into custody for alleged possession and use of narcotics.

3:16 p.m. Request for assistance at the hospital.

Sunday, Feb. 4

3:35 p.m. Report of a fight between two subjects. A subject was cited for assault.

4:37 p.m. Complainant reported screaming coming from a neighbor’s residence. Upon arrival, the officer found it was a father wrestling with his kids and listening to loud music.

Birth

Ayli Grace Moon was born Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Macinna and Jonathan Moon of Wyoming.

She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

Grandparents are Kim Sams and Joe and Rachel Moon, all of Wyoming.

Circuit court

Brandt M. Loepp was found guilty of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 90 days suspension and one year supervised probation.

Ryan T. Allen was found guilty of hunting, trapping, fishing or collecting antlers/horns on private land without permission and was sentenced to 60 days in jail with 60 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation.
