Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will host a pancake supper on Feb. 13, Shrove Tuesday, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for family, $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Church rector, Joe Galligan, said the historical significance of having pancakes on Shrove Tuesday is to prepare for Lent, a time of fasting, by using up the fat, grease and sweet stuff in the house. It also has ties to Mardi Gras, which many see as a farewell to meat during Lent.
In addition to pancakes, there will also be eggs, juice and other food items. Live musical entertainment will also be provided.
