Heinze shares journey at Historical Society meeting

The Hot Springs County Historical Society will be featuring Merlin Heinze of Merlin’s Hideout at their gathering on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center.

A Thermopolis native, Heinze will share his journey from being a ranch hand to successful businessman, and how old ways have become new again.

Heinze and his wife, Barbara, have taken an idea and developed into an internationally successful business with products coveted throughout the globe.

Tanning natural hides and turning them into fashionable wearables has become an art for the couple.

Heinze will identify methods and practices used in preparing the hides for the garment industry along with some good stories along the way.

The meeting is open to all and free to the public. Refreshments will be served.
