Theodore 'Ted' Fisher

Theodore "Ted" Elwyn Fisher, 54, passed away on January 4, 2018, in Casper, Wyo.

He was born April 6, 1963, to Elwyn and Doris Fisher in Thermopolis. He lived on the Fisher Farm until 1972 when the family moved into Thermopolis. He graduated from Hot Springs County High School in 1981. He then attended Central Wyoming College, Casper College and the University of Wyoming. Later he returned to Casper College and completed a career in health science.

He returned to Thermopolis working as a mechanic. Later, he became a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He traveled the country working as a mechanic, truck driver, and equipment operator. While living in Thermopolis one winter, he began a plumbing apprenticeship and earned his plumbing license. Living in Buffalo, Wyo., he enjoyed camping, fishing and exploring the Big Horn Mountains. While living in Casper in 2009, he was struck with a sudden illness that left him paralyzed from the chest down.

In his youth, Ted enjoyed going to the family cabin in the Big Horn Mountain. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing and camping in the Big Horns. He enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles as it seemed like he always had one or more. He also enjoyed shooting and teaching NRA pistol courses. Through teaching these courses he became a very good pistol shot.

Following his paralysis, he reconnected with the Lord. He spent the rest of his life doing what he loved the best, helping others to the best of his abilities and evangelizing in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was loved and admired by members of his church and viewed as an inspiration by many. He enjoyed going to church and church functions.

He was married twice. First to Amy Stevens (deceased) of Thermopolis and later to Linda Irish of Phoenix, Ariz. There were no children from either marriage.

He is survived by a sister, Bonnie (Mike); nieces, Misty and Lacey and families; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be held in Casper at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22 at the Cornerstone Church, 4100 Casper Mountain Road.
