Margaret May Perdue-Wild, 79, passed away at her residence in Thermopolis on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017.
Born April 29, 1938, in Los Angeles, Calif., she was one of three children of Chester and Helen (Kroulik) Williams. The family moved to Colorado when Margaret was a child. She graduated from Longmont High School. On March 20, 1955, she married Gene Perdue in New Mexico and the couple settled in Lyons, Colo. In 1967 they moved to Encampment, Wyo., where Margaret lived until 1999. Gene died in 1994. Margaret served on the City Council in the mid 1990’s. She moved to Wheatland in 1999. There she met John Wild and they were married in Thermopolis in April of 2007.
Margaret was a member of the Rebekahs and the VFW North Platte Valley #1625 VFW ladies auxiliary. In Thermopolis she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Her interests were many: gardening, quilting, crocheting, fishing, canning, traveling, flowers, and all animals especially horses and dogs. She loved Christmas and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Daryl, Darwin, Michael and Mark Perdue, all of Encampment and Chrystopher (Beth) Perdue of White Hall, Mont .; daughters, Cheryl Perdue of Denver, Barbara (Pecos) Craig of Wright, Shelly (Jeff) Larson of Thermopolis and Karen (Kenneth) Rakness of Grand Junction, Colo .; sister, Gladys Perdue of Longmont, Colo .; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, Gene and John; brother, Charles Williams and sister, Thelma Griswold; three sister-in-laws; and two brother-in-laws.
Cremation has taken place and graveside services are pending for spring or summer.
