On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, Dec. 19

8:18 p.m. A dispute during a child custody exchange was solved amicably.

Saturday, Dec. 23

11:49 a.m. Report of a two vehicle accident in a business parking lot outside of town. A driver was pulling their vehicle into a parking space and slid into a parked vehicle.

Police department

Tuesday, Dec. 19

2:13 p.m. Report of possible hit and run damage to a vehicle parked in a school parking lot.

Wednesday, Dec. 20

9:04 a.m. Old mortar round found in an alley was disposed of.

Thursday, Dec. 21

12:09 a.m. A juvenile female who did not return home when expected showed up first thing in the morning.

Friday, Dec. 22

5:58 a.m. Report of a two vehicle accident in a parking lot. The driver of one vehicle was backing out of a parking spot when it struck a vehicle pulling in.

Sunday, Dec. 24

10:38 p.m. Father took the keys to a vehicle away from his son because he did not want him driving on the slick roads. Because son was of age and owned the vehicle the keys were returned to him.

Monday, Dec. 25

12:38 p.m. Someone ran into a line of mailboxes in the 700 block of Washakie Street knocking them all over.

8:05 p.m. Woman reported she hit a deer with her vehicle near the edge of town on Highway 20 South.
