On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sex offender registry

This information is provided to let readers know of two sex offenders now residing in Thermopolis:

•Raymond Hunter — Residence: 745 West Sunnyside; Age: 60; Date/place of conviction: Dec. 15, 1994/ Torrington; Crime: Sexual assault in the second degree

•Robert Calhoun — Residence: 143 East Warren St.; Age: 33; Date/place of conviction: May 1, 2009/Fremont Co.; Crime: Aggravated sexual abuse

•Lee Roy Burns — Residence: 687 Sunny View Drive; Age: 62; Date/place of conviction: June 6, 2016/Thermopolis; Crime: Incest

•Ric Williams — Residence: 315 Buffalo Creek; Age: 32; Date/place of conviction: Aug. 9, 2006/Fremont Co.; Crime: Sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree

Sheriff’s office

Wednesday, Dec. 6

10:16 a.m. Report of a juvenile male subject who was not wearing appropriate clothing. The father of the juvenile heard the report and called in to state the juvenile was OK.

4:04 p.m. Caller reported a flatbed appeared to be losing its load. The deputies were out of position to respond.

Thursday, Dec. 7

5:30 p.m. Report of a subject who was laying in the snow in a park in East Thermopolis. The subject was located and had blood on his forehead, and he was transported via ambulance.

Saturday, Dec. 9

2:06 p.m. A trespass notice was requested on a subject to stay away from an apartment complex in East Thermopolis.

9:01 p.m. Request from the hospital for a welfare check on a subject who was seeking medical advice. The subject agreed to go to the hospital if taken by a deputy, and was transported to the emergency room. It should be noted this is not something the sheriff’s office regularly does.

Police department

Tuesday, Dec. 5

8:26 p.m. Civil standby was provided for a subject who wanted to go on property to get a vehicle. The subject was told he could not until he could provide proof of ownership.

Wednesday, Dec. 6

10:51 a.m. Report of a driver passing a school bus with its stop arm extended. The driver was later found and given a warning.

Thursday, Dec. 7

1:27 p.m. Complainant reported she had closed an account but a subject had been writing checks on it. The matter was reported to the police department in Cheyenne, the city where the fraudulent activity was happening.

Friday, Dec. 8

7:20 a.m. Report of a semi trailer in a crosswalk. The driver was able to move it out of the way.

Saturday, Dec. 9

1:40 a.m. Call from the hospital about a female subject who was acting irrationally. The subject left prior to the officer’s arrival.

8:01 a.m. Female subject claimed she was being harassed by her ex-husband. The situation had calmed down before the officer arrived.

1:29 p.m. Complainant reported what believed to be child abuse. The officer determined it was disciplinary action.

4:27 p.m. Report of a subject in a business parking lot selling high dollar items for cheap. The subject was gone when the officer arrived.

5:02 p.m. A 10-year-old juvenile and an 11-year-old juvenile were given permission to go with a male subject to get food. The subject then left town with the juveniles.

The subject was later identified as Chester Addison and the juveniles were located. Pending charges against Addison include custodial interference and joyriding.

9:01 p.m. An officer went into a bar and noted a subject who was on probation. The subject suddenly left via another door and could not be located.

Sunday, Dec. 10

10:01 p.m. Female subject reported someone was peeking in the windows of her house. There were no signs anyone had been at the windows.

Monday, Dec. 11

12:13 p.m. Female subject reported some CD’s had been stolen. The subject found the items prior to the officer’s arrival.

10:17 p.m. Reporting party sad a resident had been stuck in the snow on the river. The subject was later found to be OK at his home.

Parker John Collamer was born Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Kayte Jenniges and Paul Collamer of Wyoming.

He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 20.75 inches long.

Grandparents are Jim Jenniges, Randi Haught, Mike Collamer and Becky Siedenborg.

Owen Lee Searle was born Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Margaret Jones and Tim Searle of Wyoming.

He weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 21.5 inches longs.

Grandparents are Samantha Zupan, Weston and Heather Jones and Keith and Angie Searle, all of Wyoming.
