C.R. Burnell

C.R. Burnell passed away suddenly at Swedish Hospital in Denver, Colo., on December 7, 2017.

He was born on June 26, 1951, to Rex E. and Donna Mae (Skinner) Patterson in Thermopolis. After his father was killed in a car crash, his mother married Dick Burnell and the two families blended. They moved from Thermopolis and traveled around the western states before moving back to Wyoming.

Esther brought a son, Vernin, into the union and they had two daughters, Kurstin and Karen. C.R. loved his family, gardening with his mom, working in the oil field and riding his motorcycles. He was a friend to everyone he met and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his daughters, Aaron of Oklahoma, Kurstin (Calvin) Turnbaugh of Thermopolis, and Karen Burnell of Casper, two grandsons; two granddaughters; great-grandson; brothers, Charles (Linda) Burnell, Doug Burnell and Steve (Eva) Burnell; sisters, Lin Davenport and Julie (Jim) Enis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rex; step father Dick; mother, Donna, a brother-in-law; a nephew and nieces.

There will be a celebration of C.R.'s life at the VFW in Thermopolis on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. Please join the family in remembering the crude and rude old man.
