Hot Springs State Park buffalo going up for sale

Wyoming State Parks and Historic Sites is now taking bids for the purchase of buffalo from Hot Springs State Park.

Each year the state sells a portion of their herds in order to maintain breeding as well as feeding grounds.

This year there will be four heifer calves from 2017 available along with five of this year’s bull calves, two yearling bulls from 2016, a yearling heifer, a two-year old bull and a 10 year-old breeding bull from our herd in Hot Springs State Park. All of the animals are a mixture of Hot Springs State Park and Bear River State Park herds.

All of the animals have been vaccinated and change of ownership papers may be obtained at the buyer’s expense from the brand inspector if required.

Successful bidders will need to come get their animals as the state will not deliver, but will help with loading.

Bids must be received no later than end of business day on Wed., Jan. 3.
