This past week, Thermopolis Middle School Wrestling competed at a triangular against Cody and Powell in Worland on Thursday, Nov. 30, and the Spartan Invitational at Riverton on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Coach Toby Emery stated, “We had a great weekend of wrestling overall. The boys really performed well and had a successful showing. Of the fourteen teams competing at the Spartan Invite in Riverton, we placed 11th overall and had six individual wrestlers place in the top six. Four wrestlers made the finals and three were crowned champs.
“The boys have been drilling moves and conditioning relentlessly. I am extremely pleased with the progress the team has made and am excited to coach them at conference this Saturday.”
Emery again expressed his appreciation to the Bobcat fans for the support they’ve given the wrestlers so far. The conference meet begins at 10 a.m. this Saturday at Hot Springs County High School.

In Division 70, Chris Bapst lost in the Championship Round by a 28-second fall to Taylor Baggs of Cody, received a bye in Consolation Round 1 and lost in Consolation Round 2 by a 26-second fall to Jon Hernandez of Riverton.
In Division 80, Seth Needham received a bye in Championship Round 1, lost in Championship Round 2 by a 47-second fall to Joran Cochran of Rock Springs, received a bye in Consolation Round 2, won in Consolation Round 3 by a 37-second fall over Brady Fossen of Rocky Mountain and lost in Consolation Round 4 by a 13-0 major decision to Dylon Casdorph of Worland.
In the same division, Ty Peterson placed second and scored 20 team points. Peterson received a bye in Championship Round 1, won in Championship Round 2 by a 3-2 decision over Creeden Newell of Worland, won in the Quarterfinal by a 5-2 decision over Chad Snyder of Lander, won in the Semifinal by a 4-1 decision over Jackson Wilson of Centennial and lost the first place match by a 2:55 fall to Zachary Covolo of Rawlins.
Also in Division 80, Ethan Crow received a bye in Championship Round 1, lost in Championship Round 2 by a 7-4 decision to Jackson Wilson of Centennial, received a bye in Consolation Round 2, won in Consolation Round 3 by a 5-3 decision over Maxton McCullough of Dean Morgan and lost in Consolation Round 4 by a 7-2 decision to Joran Cochran of Rock Springs.
Also in Division 80, Dalton Price received a bye in Championship Round 1, lost in Championship Round 2 by a 1:54 fall to Micah Grant of Cody, received a bye in Consolation Round 2, won in Consolation Round 3 by a 34-second fall over Daniel Smith of CY and lost in Consolation Round 4 by a 4-0 decision to Chad Snyder of Lander.
In Division 105, Charlie Sandberg received a bye in Championship Round 1, lost in Championship Round 2 by a 25-second fall to Saben Carlson of Rock Springs and lost in Consolation Round 2 by a 1:17 fall to Jeremiah Salmo of Lander.
Also in Division 105, Luke Arcand received a bye in Championship Round 1, lost in Championship Round 2 by a 17-second fall to Santana Sisneros of Dean Morgan and lost in Consolation Round 2 by a 19-second fall to Dylan Campbell of Cody.
In Division 110, Ethan Music won in Championship Round 1 by a 22-second fall over Travis Kelly of Dean Morgan, lost in Championship Round 2 by a 18-2 tech fall to Dylan Brenton of CY, won in Consolation Round 2 by a 6-4 decision over Emeliegh Dalton of Cody and lost in Consolation Round 3 by a 20-second fall to Brady Deming of Cody.
Also in Division 110, Wyatt McDermott placed first and scored 33 team points. McDermott won in Championship Round 1 by a 2:49 fall over Gavin Greenwood of Centennial, won in Championship Round 2 by a 57-second fall over Austin Petty of Rawlins, won in the Quarterfinal by a 2:19 fall over Keefer Thomas of Powell, won in the Semifinal by a 1:54 fall over Noah Sides of Dean Morgan, and won the first place match by a 9-0 major decision over Elijah Hernandez of Riverton.
In Division 115, Roedy Farrell placed first and scored 30 team points. Farrell won in Championship Round 1 by a 1:30 fall over Will Thomasson of Cody, won in the Quarterfinal by a 1:36 fall over Jesse Mcdonald of Lander, won in the Semifinal by a 49-second fall over Larry Woodington of Rocky Mountain and won the first place match by a 2:56 fall over Nate Costalez of Centennial.
In Division 120, Mason Reese received a bye in Championship Round 1, lost in Championship Round 2 by a 1:40 fall to Eric Durran of Rawlins, received a bye in Consolation Round 2 and lost in Consolation Round 3 by a 5-3 decision 1o Barrett Geaorge of Cody.
In Division 130, Matt Music placed fourth and scored 20 team points. Music won in Championship Round 1 by a 24-second fall over Kevin Rosales of Greybull, won in Championship Round 2 by a one-minute fall over Randy Mock of Lander, won in the Quarterfinal by a 48-second fall over Josef Sanchez of Dean Morgan, lost in the Semifinal by a 37-second fall to Zander Risner of Rawlins, won in the Consolation Semifinal by an 8-4 decision over Olivia Smith of Centennial and lost in the third place match by a 1:35 fall to Josh Rose of Worland.
In Division 140, Clark Emmett lost in Championship Round 1 by a 24-second fall to Jace Grant of Cody, received a bye in Consolation Round 1 and lost in Consolation Round 2 by a 1:27 fall to Sage Romero of Rock Springs.
Also in Division 140, Jarek Sorenson lost in Championship Round 1 by a 54-second fall to Tyler Hill of CY, received a bye in Consolation Round 1 and lost in Consolation Round 2 by a 42-second fall to Jace Grant of Cody.
In Division 155, Cole Christiansen placed first and scored 22 team points. Christiansen won in the Quarterfinal by a 57-second fall over James Love of Lovell, won in the Semifinal by a 6-0 decision over Jack Mortimer of Dean Morgan and won the first place match by a 4-0 decision over Nate Minemyer of Rocky Mountain.
In Division 160, Jack Whittaker placed sixth and scored three team points. Whittaker lost in the Quarterfinal by a 5-2 decision to James Robertson of Lander, received a bye in Consolation Round 1, lost in the Consolation Semifinal by a 22-second fall to Gavin Bleak of Powell and lost the fifth place match by forfeit to James Robertson of Lander.
