Larry C. Larson, 80, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at his residence in Thermopolis after a lengthy illness.
Born October 6, 1937, in Newcastle, Wyo., he was the son of Lawrence and Goldie (Harrod) Larson. After high school he joined the US Navy in January of 1957, serving until 1959.
On November 4, 1960, he married Jo Ann McNett in Chadron, Neb. The couple raised two sons.
Larry's occupation as an electrical lineman included living in Nebraska, Montana, and Wyoming. Moving to Thermopolis in 1978, he continued working for Western Area Power.
Following retirement he was employed as a cement truck driver for Canyon Concrete.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Old Timers Rodeo Association. Loving the outdoors, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and horseback riding – a true hearted cowboy. He loved his family and was a fan of the Denver Broncos.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, of 57 years; sons, Tony (Lisa) and Casey Larson, both of Thermopolis; brothers, Gaylord ("Sally") Larson of Rawlins, Wyo., and Lynn (Kathy) Larson of Cheyenne, Wyo .; grandchildren, Kiamichi Larson, Cassie Owsley, Kaila Jones, William Larson, Kyle Larson and Zack Larson; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
