F.D. Allen, 82, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at his residence in Hot Springs County.
Born March 22, 1935, in Wheeler, Mich., he was one of five children of Chet and Bernice (Spiece) Allen.
On July 4, 1953 he married Norma Feltman in St. Louis, Mich. The couple lived in Michigan raising their five children.
F.D. was a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers in Michigan until retirement in 1982. The couple moved to Thermopolis where they purchased the Coachman Motel and the Enderly farm the following year. After 15 years of motel business they moved to the farm where they farmed and raised cattle. Until recently F. D. worked with his bulldozer and backhoe around the Thermopolis area. For 30 years he also worked on and off for Smith Oil Field.
F.D. loved hunting and fishing but his greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Norma, of 64 years, of Thermopolis; children, Ray (Alice) Allen of New York, Tony (Jamie) Allen of Michigan, Bill (Jan) Allen of Thermopolis, Debbie (Dennis) Coleman of Thermopolis, and Wanda (Chuck) Niersel of Michigan; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild due in January.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
