Community fundraiser planned for downtown

A pair of events Hot Springs County residents look forward to each Holiday season is the Tour of Homes and the Festival of Trees.

This year, they’re shaking things up a little, changing the Tour of Homes to a Tour of Tiny Campers which will be on display downtown on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 3 to 8 p.m.

The campers will be set up on Broadway, between Fourth and Fifth Street.

Each one is decorated by volunteers and you’ll be able to take a peek inside each one that evening.

Along with the campers will be the Festival of Trees auction, benefitting various entities in Thermopolis.

Trees and wreaths are decorated by volunteers then auctioned off with proceeds going to the Community Fund. People can then apply for funds from the Community Fund to help with projects.

Some of the proceeds this year will also go to the People for People program, used to feed people in our community on Sundays.

The auction of the wreaths and trees will begin at 6:30 p.m. and there will be entertainment from Eric Kay, santa sightings, cookie decorating, raffles and more, all in conjunction with the ArtStroll.

There will be a variety of Holiday activities throughout the day.
