Commercial cleaning offered

A new business has sprung up in Thermopolis, Wild Flower Services, LLC, a commercial cleaning and lawn service business.

Amanda Moeller, owner of Wild Flower Services said, “Starting another company was not something that occurred to me immediately. I attend so many meetings and community gatherings each year and there is often a common thread - clean up.”

After seeing the overgrown yards on vacant properties listed for sale around the eclipse weekend, she decided that perhaps she should start a business keeping them up during the summer months.

“There are already several lawn care services,” she said, “but I do not know of any that cater to vacant properties. When the curb appeal is marred by uncut grass and tall weeds it not only affects the home’s ability to sell, but the whole neighborhood, and community.”

She added that she has also seen homes listed for sale and for rent that were not clean on the inside, and was surprised there was not a company in town to offer this service to home owners and realtors, as there is in many other communities.

The realtors may not be responsible for keeping the property looking as good as it can, but most of them do their best, or can at least make the referral to the home-owner.

“If I lived out of town or even out of state, I would be happy to know that someone was keeping the lawn mowed and making sure the house looked clean for the realtor to show,” she said, “not to mention checking regularly to make sure there is not a broken pipe somewhere or something smelling the place up that may deter a buyer, or be waiting when I returned.”

There are several rental properties that charge a cleaning deposit, but the next renter has to do the cleaning. Property managers can now use the cleaning deposit as intended without needing to do the work themselves by calling Wild Flower Services.

“My team can clean and paint with a quick turn around so that the property can be rented out again and cash flows in,” she said. “Another perk to using this service is that your property will be in better shape, look good, be clean - always a plus to most renters.”

During chats with Fred Crosby at the Town of Thermopolis she learned the Town has several absentee-owner properties that present a challenge during the summer months because the yards get out of hand and the people do not live here to take care of them. Those property-owners can now avoid penalty from the Town by hiring Wild Flower Services to mow on a regular schedule.

“I figured the best way to tie it all together would be to start out cleaning commercially with businesses, and build a clientele,” she said. “I also clean vacation rentals, move-outs and new construction. The lawn service will begin next spring/summer when the greenery starts growing.”

Moeller hopes reasonable rates, customizable options, and regular “maintenance cleaning” after the initial cleaning will entice property owners, property managers, vacation rentals, and commercial businesses to give Wild Flower Services a try.
