Sign up now for new 4-H year

October 1-7 is National 4-H Week, celebrating and showcasing the incredible experiences that 4-H offers young people.

In Hot Springs County there are 128 children, from the 5-7-year old Cloverbuds to the 8-18-year old regular 4-H members.

Of course, 4-H wouldn’t be possible without the help of a bevy of volunteers. There are currently 45 adult volunteers with the local program and more volunteers are always welcome.

With 47 different programs that range from archery and shooting sports to computers, robotics, dogs, cats, photography and sportsfishing, just to name a few, there is not only something for everyone but volunteer opportunities to fit any lifestyle.

October 1 starts a new year for 4-H and members and leaders and they may begin registering online at 4honline.com.

New potential members or volunteers may call 864-3421 for more information on joining the 4-H program.
