Two to be inducted into Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame this weekend

Carl Obe Dockery and Ernest Nathan “Nate” Brown, posthumously, have been selected as inductees for the Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame (WCHF) for Region 8, which includes Hot Springs County.

Dockery and Brown were selected by the WCHF Board of Directors during their annual business meetings on May 20 and 21 in Casper. The process of selection is done by committees in ten geographic regions across the state soon after nominations closed. The WCHF sends each nomination to the county from which it was submitted, where regional honorees are chosen by their respective committees. Nominees ranked at the top in each county are again reviewed during the state board meeting.

Family members of Dockery and Brown have been invited to attend the 2017 induction ceremony and festivities this Saturday and Sunday. The Independent Record will have a more detailed story on the local inductees in the Sept. 28 edition.
