Welcome to Thermopolis!

We’re very happy that you’ve chosen our neck of the woods to experience this dramatic celestial event and we’re hoping to show you a great time while you’re here.

As you go through these pages along with the Solar Eclipse special section, you’ll find we have a lot of things going on during the next few days. There’s a little something for everyone.

Friday night will feature our ArtStroll downtown with all manner of arts and music. There will be everything from homemade soaps and lotions to a “make and take” solar art project.

Saturday kicks off with the Farmer’s Market by Bicentennial Park where you can find all kinds of fresh produce, homemade breads, jams, cookies and more, starting at 8 a.m.

The ArtStroll will continue on Saturday, too.

We have swimming pools in Hot Springs State Park to enjoy, hiking trails, biking trails, petroglyphs and museums to explore. Our golf course is one of the best in the state, and of course, there are lectures and films to attend that are astronomy based.

If you’ve never seen a demolition derby, let us recommend you attend ours on Saturday night. Kids especially enjoy the loud cars, the thumping crashes and the chance you’re going to get splattered with flying mud from the arena.

If dancing is on your list, there will be a street dance downtown on Saturday night that will run until 1 a.m.

If you have questions about anything eclipse related or you’re just looking for information on what’s going on in town, please feel free to call the Hotline number, 307-864-8010. We have volunteers manning the phones to answer your questions.

Most of all, Thermopolis wants you to have a terrific time while you’re here! Who knows, you might find you like us enough to stay.
