Those who have been collecting the Main Street Thermopolis Christmas ornaments will be excited to know the newest ornament has arrived.
This year, the limited edition ornament will feature the building housing the Messenger Law Offices. They will be for sale, soon, for the same amount as last year, $30 per ornament.
Any businesses that decide to carry the seasonal ornament will get a slight discount per ornament.
The Main Street committee went through their time line for projects and such for the year and are up to date on items they’re determined to complete this year. A couple of things are still needing completed, but they’re small items that should be easy to take care of.
The group was also happy to know they are right on budget for the year as well.
A committee has been working on nominations for Main Street Wyoming awards that are due by Aug. 18. While everyone at the meeting was curious who they had decided to nominate for the various awards, the committee decided to keep things a secret until later.
A listing of all the businesses and their buildings in Thermopolis is nearly completed as well.
The group is gathering information on all the buildings in the area such as the year they were built and the line of ownership of the buildings up to 2017. Historical information is one of the keys to the Main Street program. Currently, they are only missing the information on four or five businesses.
Oktobrewfest is just around the corner and the group has been working hard on plans for this year’s celebration. In order to keep things running smoothly, they have decided to meet more than just once a month closer to the event.
The next meeting will be Thursday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. in the Central Bank and Trust offices.
