Daniel Vern Keener, 63, of Kirby, Wyo., passed away on July 20, 2017.
He was born on May 19, 1954, in Provo, Utah, to his loving parents, Delores K. Kinsey and Wilford J. Keener.
Dan had a gift for loving people. He was described as a man with a good heart who would give you the shirt off of his back. He had a love for music that started at a young age when he became a drummer and the love continued throughout his life. Dan loved fiercely and with a tender heart. He believed in family as he cheered for his loved ones, just as he will continue to do so from heaven.
He Joined the Marines in 1971, and lived by that code of honor for the rest of his life.
He is survived by his children, Shane, Danny, Allen, Dustin and Santana; mother, Delores K. O'Brien; siblings, Bill, Debbie, Dennis, Cindy, Drake, and Johnny; 10 grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilford J. Keener; and stepfather, Larry O'Brien.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, from 1-5 p.m. at Liberty Park on the north west side of the park near the playgrounds at 600 E. 900 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84105
