Team roping at fairgrounds Saturday

This Saturday marks the first of three team roping events being hosted at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds by Durbin Creek Ranch.

The three events will allow members of the American Cowboys Team Roping Association (ACTRA) a chance to qualify for the Big Horn Chapter ACTRA finals in September at the Cottonwood Equestrian Center in Silesia, Mont.

Roping at the chapter finals will also qualify ropers to rope at ACTRA’s National Finals in Reno, Nev.

Durbin Creek Ranch also held a series last winter that will count toward the three qualifying events for the finals.

If you are not already a member of ACTRA, membership will be available at the event.

Affiliate memberships are $10, single member premier memberships are $65 and double member premier memberships are $95.

Ropers will be able to do their entry at 3 p.m. and be roping by 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Other dates will be July 8 and Aug. 12.
