Annual Gift of the Waters Parade

Mark your calendar for the Annual Gift of the Water Parade that is Saturday, August 5 at 10 a.m. The theme to this year’s parade is “Pages from the Ages — Celebrating over 100 years.” Many of our downtown buildings are celebrating their 100th birthday this year. It is amazing that we can look at some of the buildings and know that they have been there for at least a 100 years.

The parade route is as follows: Line up starts at 9:30 a.m. on Arapahoe and Senior Avenue — make sure to check in and get your entry number. At 10 a.m. the parade will begin, heading west on Arapahoe to Fifth Street then turning left on Fifth Street to Broadway, turning right to Sixth Street and turning around at the intersection at the stop light and heading east on Broadway until Fourth Street. Make sure to get there early to find a shady spot to enjoy the floats.

The Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce encourages businesses, organizations and individuals to place an entry in the parade. The only rule (that is an insurance requirement) is that no candy/handouts be thrown from the vehicle or float. People can walk along their entries and hand out candy, or toss it to the kids. We have three categories and the winner of each will receive $50 in Chamber Bucks. They are Business, Automobile/Float and Kids. All entries will be judged on theme, appearance and originality.

Stop by the Chamber Office to pick up your parade form and enjoy a hometown parade.
