Hot Springs State Park in the running for top state attraction

Those of us who live in Wyoming know there are so many beautiful, wonderful things to see in our state that it’s sometimes hard to know which is number one.

The folks at USA Today have taken it upon themselves to find out which attraction in Wyoming is the best by creating a travel award on their website that people all over the country can vote for their favorite spot in the Cowboy State.

Currently, Hot Springs State Park is ranked 12th of the top 20 best attractions with our mineral waters, the colorful terraces and Big Horn River. The website mentions the State Bath House along with over six miles of trails.

Sitting in the number one spot is the Brinton Museum at the Quarter Circle A Ranch in Big Horn.

The museum is followed by the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, and coming in third on the list is Yellowstone National Park.

Unfortunately, the little blurb on the website doesn’t tell folks about the other things you’ll see in the park, like our two pools, the wonderful green spaces surrounding the playgrounds, the Teepee Fountain, beautiful trees and flowers or the amazing Swinging Bridge.

Also missing is the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and our enormous buffalo in the pasture.

If you would like to help boost Hot Springs State Park’s ranking, you may vote once each day until Monday, July 3 at 9 a.m.

Winners will be announced by USA Today on Friday, July 7.
