On the Record June 8

Correction

In the June 1 issue of the Independent Record it was incorrectly reported that the VFW State Convention would be holding their meetings at the post. They will be held at the Days Inn and auxiliary meetings will be at the museum. The post will be open to the public as usual.

Tuesday, May 30

7:12 a.m. Caller requested a trespass notice on a subject, for a business south of town.

2:25 p.m. REDDI report from the area of Sixth and Shoshoni. The driver of the vehicle was contacted, but tested negative for intoxication.

6:35 p.m. Subject from out of town requested a welfare check on a grandchild. The child was OK.

Wednesday, May 31

8:05 p.m. Animal problem involving dogs and chickens. The incident is still under investigation.

Thursday, June 1

12:02 p.m. A set of keys was found in the area of 10th and Clark, and turned in.

3:57 p.m. A request for trespassing was requested in East Thermopolis. However, it was found a protection order was in place, and the notice was not needed.

Friday, June 2

5:11 p.m. Deputy provided an assist to Department of Family Services for a home check.

Sunday, June 4

5:29 p.m. REDDI report from the area of South Sixth Street. A deputy followed the vehicle but did not see any infractions.

Monday, June 5

9:57 a.m. Civil standby was provided at a business where an employee was terminated.

1:37 p.m. Report from West Sunnyside, regarding a small beehive placed by a group of mailboxes. A deputy is working to find out who placed it there.

Tuesday, May 30

2:22 a.m. Officer observed a vehicle driving erratically. A request was sent in to have the driver re-tested to determine if he is fit to drive.

10:24 a.m. Caller reported a disturbance, which turned out to be a mother and son arguing. The two were counseled on the behavior.

11:48 a.m. Complainant reported vandalism to a vehicle, which was hit by dirt and grass kicked up by a lawnmower on an adjoining property.

3:04 p.m. Employee at a local vehicle dealership reported a couple temporary registration permits had been stolen.

Wednesday, May 31

8:48 a.m. Officer assisted Department of Family Services with a urine analysis collection.

10:27 a.m. Officer provided an assist regarding a previously detained subject attempting to leave the hospital. The subject was taken back to his room.

4:41 p.m. Caller received a perceived threat via text message. Parties were spoken to and agreed to not have any further contact with each other.

5:23 p.m. Report of a vehicle blocking an alley. Contact was made with the driver, who was moving furniture and was allowed to finish before moving the vehicle.

9:06 p.m. Complainant said a vehicle was blocking an alley. The vehicle was being moved when the officer arrived.

Thursday, June 1

8:38 a.m. Report of an attempted fraud via text message. The complainant was given advice on what not to do.

1:58 p.m. Report of a state traffic sign on Sixth Street was damaged. The officer saw tire tracks leading up to the sign, but no suspect vehicle.

4:17 p.m. Caller reported losing a purse.

4:54 p.m. Complainant reported people arguing. Responding officer determined the noise was coming from a television at a neighboring residence.

Friday, June 2

12:06 p.m. Welfare check was reported on a subject, who was found to be OK.

12:45 p.m. Officer responded to a request to help restrain a male patient.

7:24 p.m. Response to a dispute between a couple. The parties agreed to separate, though the officers responded to later calls regarding them.

Saturday, June 3

2:57 a.m. A subject, later found to be intoxicated, was urinating on a bush. Joshua Wilson was arrested for alleged public intoxication.

Monday, June 5

2:49 p.m. Jeremy Smith was arrested on a warrant.

8:20 p.m. Emma Petty was arrested on a warrant for alleged violation of probation.

Circuit court

Kathy Rader was found guilty of theft under $1,000, and sentenced to five days in jail with five days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Restitution is $13.77.

Tyron Hausauer was found guilty of battery. Fees and fines are $200.
