Jules Ward of Thermopolis has been named a finalist for the prestigious Milward Simpson award. The award is considered to be the highest honor an athlete can receive, because they excelled in multiple sports in all four years of their high school career.
Ward, an athlete in cross country, basketball and outdoor track and field, had a sports career including breaking a cross country record that was over 30 years old, being a member of the 2016 second place state cross country team, several personal records in the 2017 track season and back-to-back years setting the school record in the 1600 meters, in 2016 and 2017.
She plans to continue her running career at the University of Alaska — Anchorage.
