On the Record policy

It is the Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff’s office

Tuesday, May 16

11:11 a.m. Report of a hit and run accident from mile marker 167 on Highway 20 South. It was unknown exactly when and where the accident occurred.

11:37 a.m. Deputy responded to a family argument. It was determined the matter was civil in nature.

7:21 p.m. Report of an argument between two parties. Both agreed to separate, and were advised to stay away from each other.

Wednesday, May 17

7:38 a.m. Traffic control was provided during movement of some cattle.

Friday, May 19

11:23 a.m. Deputy responded to a REDDI report. The suspect vehicle was located, but was able to make it home prior to the deputy being able to taking action.

Saturday, May 20

2:55 p.m. REDDI report, and the suspect vehicle was located but the driver was not intoxicated and no action was taken.

8:46 p.m. Report of a possible wildfire, which turned out to be a controlled burn which was not reported.

Monday, May 22

8:26 p.m. Welfare check was performed on a subject, who was found to be OK.

9 p.m. Report of a dog at large. The dog later returned home.

Tuesday, May 16

2:42 a.m. Complainant reported a male subject threatening to post incriminating information online.

8 a.m. An individual from out of state requested a local subject be checked on.

9:18 a.m. Report of a lost padlock.

12:14 p.m. Report of an individual conducting a controlled burn without notification.

1:29 p.m. Caller reported two missing dogs. There was no information as to whether the animals were returned.

7:04 p.m. Complainant state there were semis on 14th Street which has been designated for no through trailer traffic.

9:19 p.m. Caller reported someone looking through the window. There was no subject found, or evidence anyone had been there.

Wednesday, May 17

12:06 p.m. Report of a lost wallet that contained personal information cards.

2:05 p.m. Officer responded to a traffic stop, though a citation was issued to Nathan Weiner for possession of a controlled substance.

2:55 p.m. Jessica Bledsoe was arrested for two counts of alleged possession of a controlled substance. Steven Bledsoe was arrested for two counts of alleged possession of a controlled substance and one count of alleged possession of paraphernalia.

Thursday, May 18

10:31 a.m. A dog was located near the water treatment plant and taken to the vet clinic. It was unknown if its owner had been located.

8:33 p.m. Officer responded to a family fight, though it was found to be a verbal argument.

Saturday, May 20

11:20 a.m. Reporting party believed a vehicle was stolen. The vehicle was returned, though a license plate from it was found outside of town.

1:30 p.m. Complainant reported receiving threats via text message. The matter was deemed civil.

Sunday, May 21

1:47 p.m. Caller reported a theft, though later found the missing item in the house.

Monday, May 22

4:33 a.m. Subject reported waking up in the night and finding the door open. There was no sign of forced entry, and nobody else in the home.

7:17 a.m. Report of a car passing a bus that had it’s flashers on. Allen Shires was cited.

8:28 a.m. Report of a dog running at large, which nipped an officer trying to catch it. The owner was cited.

9:16 a.m. Caller reported losing a blue bag which contained personal information and identification cards.

9:46 a.m. Report of two lost dogs, which were found by the owner.

11:18 a.m. Complainant reported someone backing over a mailbox.

11:58 a.m. Report of a barking dog. The owner was contacted.

2:19 p.m. Repossession of a vehicle in the 800 block of Warren.

5:05 p.m. Report of a car passing a bus with its flashers on. The vehicle was from out of state.

Circuit court

Cameron Boni was found guilty of breach of peace and property destruction under $1,000. Fees and fines are $380.
