The weather finally cooperated for the Bobcat golf team last Thursday as they traveled to Riverton.
Coach Jacob Smith said the Riverton course is a tough one, but the boys delivered a fifth place finish with a total score of 376.
Hudson Roling led the team with a 78, tying for fifth as an individual.
“Hudson (Roling) wasn’t thrilled with his score,” Smith said, “and said he struggled to find the speed of the greens, which looked much faster than they rolled.”
Kaylee Smith also netted a top 10 finish, tying for eighth with a score of 100.
“She was very excited and nervous to play in front of Coach Holgate,” Smith said. “She will be suiting up for him next year on the CWC Ladies golf team.”
Smith said the younger players are continuing to develop.
Jaxon Davis shot a great 100 on the course, while Cade McLean posted a 111, a score Smith said McLean wasn’t thrilled with, but a good showing for a first attempt at Riverton’s hard course.
Colton Dobbins also found the greens tough to read and posted a 104 for the day.
Cameron Cole and Jake Maksin both posted 97’s.
“We aren’t where we want to be,” Smith said, “but we will be working hard this summer to be competitive next fall.”
Bobcat golfers will head to the Worland/Lander Invite on Friday.
