Norton Gwynn

Norton Edgar Gwynn, 93, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017.

He was born in Grass Creek, Wyo., to Edgar and Laura Gwynn on November 10, 1923. Nort attended high school in Thermopolis. There he met the love of his life, Betty Jean Dodge, in 1939. Nort enlisted in the Navy in 1941. He served as an airplane mechanic during World War II in the South Pacific.

Nort and Betty were married on May 6, 1946, in Thermopolis. He graduated from CU with a degree in pharmacy and opened Gwynn's Pharmacy on Main Street in Buena Vista in 1958. Nort and Betty raised their family in Gywnnsville, their property along the Cottonwood Creek. In 1986, Norton retired from the Buena Vista correctional Farcicality where he worked as head of the medical department.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean; children, Steven, Kenneth, Nancy and David; grandchildren, Jason, Mark, Elizabeth, Bruce and Timothy; five great-grandchildren; and extended family.
